London World Tour 2017 - A Personal Preview

It is that time of year again - May.
It is my favourite month, the British weather tends to be brighter (comparatively speaking), we get two extra days off by way of bank holidays, it is the month of my birth, AND, it is the time that the Salesforce World Tour comes to town.

Last year's World Tour was a special one as I was invited on stage pre-keynote and given the #AwesomeAdmin award, this was the highlight of a jam-packed and wonderful day. Here are my thoughts from the time - 10 Things I Didn't Do at the Salesforce World Tour London

All this means that 2017's event has a lot to live up to. I am hopeful it won't disappoint though as I have another busy day planned PLUS it is the first big Salesforce event which I will be attending as an MVP. I am looking forward to getting a seat up front for the keynote and seeing my name on the thank you slide.

Last year I was on Trailhead duty from 8am and it wiped me out for the rest of the day so I have given myself an easier start this year. I plan to arrive closer to 9am and take some time to check out the Customer Success Expo, the Developer Forest, the Admin Meadow, and the new Community Station which will be promoting our fabulous user groups, before heading to the keynote.

Straight after the keynote I have a 3 hour shift staffing the Trailhead Camp Quick Start, if it is anything like last year I know it will be a crazy busy 180 minutes. I am hoping I will be able to grab some lunch during this time otherwise my stomach will be rumbling and might drown me out when I take to the Admin Theatre stage at 3pm.

This year I am presenting on the subject of change management in relation to migrating to Lightning. I am hoping to have a good crowd and I look forward to providing everyone with some key takeaways to make the process easier and the transition successful.

Join me at 3pm in the Admin Theatre

I know I will be on a high after my session and so I will take that positivity and join the Brightgen team in their networking zone to put myself on the spot in their Ask an MVP drop-in.

I will be answering questions and sharing my experiences in a 'power hour' entitled:
Habits of a Successful Salesforce Team - Life After Implementation.
More details can be found here - http://www2.brightgen.com/SFWT2017/MVP

This brings me to 5pm and the end of the official proceedings, by which time my feet will be aching, my voice croaky, and I will be ready to unwind with the rest of the community. The only dilemma we will have at this point will be which of the many happy hours to attend first. Cheers!
